Dani and Adam's Super Fun Rupert Wedding

Dani and Adam sharing their vows at Rupert on Rupert.

dani and adam’s melbourne wedding was a ripper.

All the right elements for the best day (and night) ever.

adam and dani were married at melbourne favourite rupert ON RUPERT in may 2023.

Their whole brief was FUN and they included all the right elements to make that happen. A really vibrant ceremony, live DJ, photobooth and a full bar service. They also prioritised low stress, choosing one of Melbourne’s best venues and experienced vendors that they clicked with.

Dani and Adam both weigh in on the planning process below and I can’t love their recommendations more.

I’m so glad they found me. Absolute legends who I had a ball working with.

if it feels right for you and your partner, you can’t go wrong
— Nat

What was the best decision you made?

Dani
:  Oh gosh… I can’t pick just one! There were a few best decisions that seemed minor in the moment but really helped take the weight off our shoulders during planning, protect our energy on the day and made the whole day feel so US.

I still praise the Planning Gods we found you, Nat. Your insights, resources, ideas and blogs were ah-ha moments for us early on. We felt inspired to make our day whatever we wanted it to be, not what others might expect it to be. Feeling empowered to ditch some of the uncomfortable (to us) formalities of a wedding, we loved the idea of throwing our ultimate love party… so we ran with that!

We opted not to have a planner or stylist which was pretty daunting. But our key to stressing less and enjoying the process was investing in superstar vendors. We sought out experts who resonated with us, our vibe and our vision. Bonus that almost every vendor was familiar with our venue, Rupert on Rupert. We leant on them for ideas, had complete trust in their craft and loved their energy for collaboration along the way.

And hands down the best decision to calm our nerves and take the pressure off walking down the aisle was to greet our guests on arrival. I’ll never forget their surprised, delighted faces and the energy as the room started to fill with all our people. It meant we weren’t being pulled every which way after the ceremony for congratulations because we got to hug, kiss, hand shake and happy dance with everyone as they arrived.

Adam:  #1 best decision was getting married! #2 Had to be the venue. Rupert on Rupert was the best choice because it was a venue that did it all. Ceremony and reception in one, food, drinks, pre and post ceremony music… everything!

..our key to stressing less and enjoying the process was investing in superstar vendors.

Did anything not go to plan/ what would you do differently?

Dani:
I forgot to hug our families after we were announced officially married… I was obviously too keen to get down that aisle and into a glass of bubbles! If I was to change one thing though, I would absolutely invest in a videographer. At the time it seemed like a ‘nice to have’ and an extra spend, but the day went by so fast, I wish we had it on video to relive over and over and over in live action. You’ll always make more money, but those moments are once in a lifetime and I’m absolutely kicking myself!

Adam:  Everything went according to plan, I wouldn’t change a thing.

What was your fave part of the day?

Dani:   Walking into Rupert and seeing Adam standing in front of Saltflower’s incredible ceremony arrangement. The anticipation, the nerves, the excitement… I tapped him on the shoulder and we both let the happy tears fly! Everything’s better when we’re together, so it calmed the nerves to have that one on one time and cheers a drink. I’ll treasure those moments and that Rupert Dark n’ Stormy cocktail forever. Unforgettable.

Adam:  Party time after all the official stuff. Because we could relax and enjoy what we’d put together.

In a few words- what advice would you give couples planning their wedding now?

Dani:   I think this was a piece of advice you gave us in our first face to face chat that stuck with me. I’m probably going to butcher the delivery, but it was something like… “if it feels right for you and your partner, you can’t go wrong”. Legendary!

Adam:  Start planning early because there’s a lot to do… and don’t be a tight arse! We spent a little extra cash on spirits all night and Rupert’s sit down menu which were great.
