REAL WEDDING - Elyse and Cam at Vue on Halycon in Chirnside Park

When Elyse contacted me about her wedding she said ‘I keep coming back to you so it has to mean something’. Happy she did because she and Cam are awesome and their wedding rocked.

Married in August at Vue on Halycon in Chirnside Park, they really did things their way. And it was a rollicking good time.

Cam wore black on black, like all good musos. Elyse dyed her hair teal. The emotion and the vibes surrounding their wedding were off the chart.

They wanted to be married in the vines but the schizo Melbourne weather deposited us firmly into the chapel.

Here’s the thing with shit weather on your day- the guests, your crowd really try harder. They do. They can appreciate it’s disappointing for you so they just bring the good vibes that little bit more. And we nearly lifted the roof off the chapel.

Elyse walked in to a pared back version of Placebo’s Loud Like Love. I cannot describe the energy of Brian Molko’s hauntingly beautiful voice rising in the chapel as she waited at the top of the aisle for her perfect moment. I remember watching Cam’s face and getting goosebumps. Then photographer Brett Scapin captured that- his face. Pure raw emotion.

The ceremony was a banger. I opened with a blistering bridal party roasting plus a few cheeky drops on other guests also. The crowd was so up for it. A big fun space of laughter and good vibes. They did a selfie.

Their vows were some of the best I’ve ever heard.  They used a bantery style that suited their relationship to a tee. The Best Man surprised gaming nerd Cam by presenting the rings in a Pokemon ball- which he totally lost it at.

We finished by smashing a three way whiskey toast between us and I sent them back up the aisle with their hearts bursting out their chests and a fire in their bellies. The photos of them on the aisle are awesome!

The night involved carefully put together play lists (a thought provoking task when you have two musos marrying and your band members in the mix too), a personalised CD for as a gift and a wild d floor.

CAN. NOT. LOSE
