Krissy and Michael's Noisy Ritual Wedding

family, good food, great wine and live tunes

Krissy and Michael were forced to postpone their wedding a year due to Covid. When we finally got there though, it was one hell of a knees up. Brunswick locals, they chose Noisy Ritual Urban Winery as their venue. I love NR- it’s cool, it’s warm, great lighting, full of barrels and cascading plants and is really well run by a bunch of legends.

The biggest foci for this wedding were family, good food, great wine and live tunes. They really put effort into sourcing local suppliers who they vibed with and tapped into all the things that really matter to them. Pre drinks, rosemary sprig buttonholes for guests as a nod to Krissy’s Croatian heritage, a fun ceremony full of feels followed by a celebratory shot of rakia, toasted by Krissy’s Dad.

They then moved into the food. A banging graze table and a constant stream of delicious morsels as well as a sit down meal by Northcote crew Firecracker. They had sunset shots on the Brunny streets with their dog Albie and a relaxed arvo chatting with guests. Their cake was one of the best tasting cakes I’ve EVER had- chocolate stout by the dynamite Torte by Mirjana. Little Buster Brown cranked out live tunes all night and the d floor was heaving.

An absolute cracker I was so stoked to be part of.

As usual, I’ve got them to dole the deets on their day. What they loved/ what they’d do differently. Their responses as follows:

1. What was the best decision you made?

It would have to be to have Nat MC for us! Nat totally brought the vibe and kept things ticking along smoothly. Michael being the type A event manager he is was bloody impressed!

2. Did anything not go to plan/ what would you do differently?

We had rosemary buttonholes for everyone to put on as they arrived but we forgot to create a sign for people to figure it out themselves, so Michael was running around telling people to put the rosemary on before the ceremony started. A very minor detail that would have made things a little less chaotic!

3. What was your fave part of the day?

We would have to say our portrait session with Elsa. We opted out of a wedding party so it was just us with Elsa and our videographer, wandering the streets of Brunny. Elsa whacked out her lil speaker and chill tunes and we just basked in the glory of the newly wedded feels, before the big vibes of the night began.

4. In a few words- what advice would you give couples planning their wedding now?

You do you! As the saying goes, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. As long as you both do what makes you happy, people's opinions are irrelevant. Stay true to yourselves as a couple.

Be choosy with your vendors. You get what you pay for!
